Alice in Wonderland Costume for Plus Sizes
Larger Plus Sizes, Feeling Sexy in Alice in Wonderland Costumes
In my dream last night I was wearing an Alice in Wonderland costume and I was FAT.
Not that wearing an Alice in Wonderland costume automatically means one must be fat; nor does it mean that if you are a fatty then an Alice Costume is the only way to go because you are…. well, fat.
And life was great at the moment – for once I was happy. Id met my lovely man Tony and we were talking about travelling and making plans for the future…all good stuff. But I had certainly stacked on the pounds over the last year (being happy makes you fat my mother always said) and it was starting to annoy me. Ok so I wasn’t quite at the beached whale stage but my clothes weren’t fitting me and something had to give….unlike my zippers and once-favourite pair of jeans that were not.
So why the Alice in Wonderland costume dream? Well that was obvious. It was my subconscious mind becoming obsessed with my weight of course. A lot like Alice when she went down the rabbit hole and started eating mushrooms and cake and growing ridiculously massive or shrinking down to a teeny tiny little nothing (ha I wish).
In my Alice in Wonderland costume dream I wasn’t just a little bit chunky as in real life – I was huge! So was I having some sort of second sight premonition and this was where I was heading? Time to take back control and become the sexy thinnish goddess I knew had buried within me…under my fat clothes. Tony didn’t care – wasn’t he lovely? He said all the right things that people say to you when they love you and don’t care what you look like – that there was more of me to love (yuk!) and it’s what’s on the inside that counts (stop!).
Yadda yadda I thought, hating myself for having let it get this far.
Actually, under more critical analysis, Tony had porked up a bit himself. And I hadn’t even noticed! Maybe mum was right – all this lovey dovey stuff makes you relax a bit and the gym membership gets traded in for movie tickets and sloppy hand-holding instead.
So when the invite to a Fairytale themed fancy dress party arrived, it was a logical choice that I wore an Alice in Wonderland costume.
After all, regardless of what size I was, I was still cute, perky and a little bit mad…just like Alice.
I was sick of hiding behind the safe, black outfits in a futile attempt to look wafer thin.
An Alice in Wonderland costume was colourful, feminine and pretty…do we remember pretty?
Tony and I made a spectacular entrance that night at the party - in our gorgeously matching Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee costumes. The Alice in Wonderland costume idea had lost its momentum and I refused to become a slave to some meaningless paranoid dream.
Instead we laughed, and we fell in the spa, and we danced and danced and danced……
And we were still fat!
