Super Girl Wears a Wonder Woman Costume
Is it a Bird, Is it Plane, It's a Wonder Woman in Costume
And then there was the time I wore a Wonder Woman Costume!
It was a work function and it was a Halloween fancy dress party – although only loosely seeing as it was August. The boss had decided to bring Halloween forward that year, to suit him and his upcoming trip overseas.
We could bring partners but I didn’t have one of those at that time. I did, however, have my eye firmly fixed on the gorgeous hunk who had recently started in HR.
For weeks leading up to the party I had used every trick in the book to find my way to the second floor where his office was. Dropping off reports, ‘accidentally’ sending printouts to his printer so I could go collect them….and catching up with my long lost best friend Sandra Somebody who worked in the office next to his. This enabled me to lean in and chat him up as well.
Oh the things you do!
Id told everyone I was going to be wearing my Wonder Woman costume – I didn’t want to risk a clash with anyone else wearing a Wonder Woman costume the same as mine.
Or worse, have them look better in it.
I had grown my hair long so I could look a natural born Wonder Woman without having to wear a wig. Id pumped a million tonne of weights at the gym, Id run a squillion miles on the treadmill and Id had everything waxed, plucked or removed that I possibly could.
Id even had my Wonder Woman Costume taken in at the seams so that it hugged me tighter than ever. So despite not being able to breathe, bend or move…..at least I was HOT!
And then I heard on the grapevine that Steve (turns out he had a name) would be going as Batman. How apt, I glowed. We’d be perfectly matched Super Heroes!
So the night of the party had come. Id arrived early to take up position and survey the scene; I wanted to be fully installed for when Steve arrived. My plan was to lock him in for a date next weekend. Well that was the plan……
It felt like hours waiting and I dared not take my eyes off the door. Anyway it wasn’t as if I could move thanks to the pressure building up in my Wonder Woman costume – too bad I thought….I can worry about my circulation tomorrow.
Batman had arrived!
I launched into action. I weaved my way over to him, my special Wonder Woman costume included a golden lasso thingy so I heaved it over his head and pulled it in tightly. He was pinned! He seemed shocked to start with, naturally, but I could see under his Batman mask that he was smiling and happy to be at my mercy. We chatted and laughed and were having a wonderful time……and then his phone rang.
He had to go. Something about his mother being in hospital? Whatever, I thought. I had to seize the moment while I could so I asked him about next weekend. He said YES…I was euphoric! Then he leaned over and whispered ‘I love you’ in my ear.
And then he was gone.
What had just happened? I stood there stunned for a few moments before Sandra walked up to me and offered me a drink.
“There’s someone who wants to talk to you”, she said all smugly. From behind her stepped Steve, dressed as Robin Hood in green tights and an ugly green felt hat.
“Nice Wonder Woman costume” he said, as I dropped my lasso in disbelief…..and then one of my side seams popped.
